FAQs

How do I prevent the caramel from sticking to the pan?

Grease the pan well or use parchment paper with overhangs. Chill bars before cutting for cleaner slices.

Can I make gluten-free cookie bars?

Yes! Use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend and ensure toffee bits and chocolate chips are gluten-free.

Can I make vegan cookie bars?

Yes! Swap butter for vegan butter, eggs for flax eggs, heavy cream for coconut cream, and use vegan caramels, chocolate chips, and toffee bits. Aligns with your vegan tweaks in recipes like the Chewy Banana Oat Breakfast Cookies.

Why is my caramel layer too hard?

Overheating the caramel or not adding enough cream can cause hardness. Microwave in short intervals and stir until just smooth. If too thick, add 1 tbsp more cream.
