Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl.
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
Add the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture and stir just until combined.
Transfer half of the pumpkin batter to a separate bowl.
Add the cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of milk to the separated batter. Mix gently until smooth, adding the remaining tablespoon of milk if needed.
Fold some of the chocolate chips into the chocolate batter.
Spoon alternating portions of pumpkin batter and chocolate batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Gently swirl a butter knife through the batter a few times to create a marble pattern.
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
Bake for 55-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer the loaf to a wire rack and let it cool before slicing.
