Ingredients

active sourdough starter

Instructions
In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, warm milk, honey, and melted butter until well combined.
Add salt, whole wheat flour, and all-purpose flour, then mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a mixer.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rest
3 to 4 hours
at room temperature (until the dough doubles in size).
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into smooth balls. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between them.
Cover and allow the rolls to rise for
30 to 45 minutes
until the rolls look puffy and slightly spring back when gently pressed.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls until golden brown on top.
Remove from the oven and brush with butter if desired before serving.
