Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a 9 × 13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Mix in the sour cream and vanilla extract until combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix just until the batter is smooth. Do not overmix.
Peel and chop the apples into thin pieces, then toss them with the cinnamon.
Spread the cake batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Arrange the cinnamon-coated apples evenly over the batter.
Make the crumb topping by mixing the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
Pour in the melted butter and stir until combined.
Add the flour and mix until large, irregular crumbs form.
Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the apples, gently pressing the larger crumbs into place.
Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 30 minutes.
Whisk the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake. Slice and serve.
